In my 5 years since I started out on a quest for extraordinary growth, I realised that entrepreneurship is not about achieving success outside but exploring oneself more and more and developing oneself as an individual.

It is not about outer journey but an inner journey where my deepest questions gets answered. My writings give me a check on how I am evolving.

Although I took a leap of faith by getting frustrated in my job 5 years back, you do not need to just do that approach to become an entrepreneur as you might fail miserably. It is fine if you are ready to fail and then rise up again. But for most people, this one fail kills their entrepreneurial dreams and then they never move on that path.

So, I suggest to not listen to society or friends around and explore your own journey and interests. Go deep within and evolve. Once you start evolving, your abilities will rise and becoming an entrepreneur becomes an obvious choice.

Just realise who entrepreneurs are. They are extraordinary self developed individuals who are on their self exploration journey and a penchant for living life on their own terms. You just need to change yourself and you might already see yourself as an entrepreneur in coming time.

Here are the practical tips to develop your entrepreneurial abilities, one inch at a time :-

  1. Develop Extraordinary Self Awareness — Once you are self aware, you can manage yourself well and develop yourself by being aware of your shortcomings. You can build your new habits easily and reject old ones. One way of going deep within and develop self awareness is through Yoga & Meditation. This helped me develop tremendous levels of self awareness in few years. The earlier you start, the better. It will also help channelize your energy levels in the right direction and make you productive. Your world view will change as you raise your consciousness.
  2. Learn something new everyday — Based on your interests and where the world is headed, make a plan to learn something new everyday and write that down before you sleep. Your desire to learn something new everyday will compound in a short period of time and you will have multiple ideas to work on and build.
  3. Create something everyday — Once you start working on step 1 and 2, you will be conscious of your thoughts, learnings and doings. I urge you next to pen down how much you “create” in a day. What I Mean by create is penning down your thoughts and developing your creative energy. Writing something or creating something based on your interests. Making a lifelong approach to creation rather than consumption. We mostly consume information or stuff and keep our knowledge to oneself. So, starting today, start sharing your learned knowledge to the world and see the magic.
  4. Take full responsibility — Nature wants to see if you are mature enough to handle your own venture and have that ability to own your decisions. So, if you are really willing to become an entrepreneur, start taking decisions and stop blaming others for your outcomes. The more responsibility you can take for yourself, the more successful you can be as an entrepreneur.
  5. Solve problems — In the last 5 years, my problem solving abilities have honed and I look for solutions around rather than create problems for people around. So, focus on solving problems. Start by focusing on solving your own problems. Then move ahead to solve other people’s problems in due course of time. Eventually this is what entrepreneurs do.
  6. Raise your energy levels — I realised this very late. But when I went on a quest to raise my energy levels and do every little piece of work with utmost focus and impact, I started getting lot of ideas and this is what helped in creative problem solving. Early morning is a great time to raise your energy levels. Waking up early and raising your energy levels can really set you up for complex problem solving for the day ahead.

Working on these 6 points will surely set you up for living life on your own terms.
